Help me give my students the opportunity to learn about the life cycles of a butterfly and a chicken. The incubator will provide the opportunity for my students to experience seeing a baby chick hatch from an egg!!
Hello! In my first grade classroom we love learning each and every day. We are in a rural, low economic, K-2 building. They have a very optimistic outlook on life and are open to new and engaging ways of learning! They love to use different modes of technology to assist in their learning. Students in our school do not have access to a lot of technology at home. It is important for them to be exposed to it as much as they can at school.
By having an incubator and butterfly life cycle kit my students will be able to experience the amazing circle of life. Many of my students never experience anything like this. This will bring many learning experiences right to them. We will observe them, read about them and write about them. This is just what they will need to be excited about learning as "spring fever" will hit soon!!
Hatching chickens and butterflies provides a learning opportunity they will never forget.
It will not only teach them about life cycles but also how to be gentle and caring!!
Many of my students will never have a chance to experience anything like this!! Students will observe the eggs and eventually chicks daily. They will learn about them through nonfiction literature and videos. They will demonstrate their learning in their writing notebooks. This will also help students become more interested in science. I really want to provide them with this opportunity!!
