But First, Financial Literacy

My students need books and activities to learn about using money in a responsible way.

My Students

My students exhibit a joy to be in school every day and have so much excitement about life. One of the perks of teaching eight-year-old children is that they know only to love new things. They are all looking for the opportunity to become some amazing members of society. (Batman and army men are a few of my favorite jobs they have chosen.) I want their school experience to be as amazing as possible!

I know that they would be able to do such wonderful things if only they have a little help.

My Project

My students have not been exposed to many learning opportunities with economics and money. When they start to use money, these books will give them a great background of how it is spent and used in a responsible way. The board games allow them to practice using money and buying things. The stickers are a great way to visually manipulate money for them. The coin bags and register will give them a chance to practice buying and selling.

Most of all, these items will open doors for my students to learn financial responsibility.

They will have the chance to interact with money and see how it works without being intimidated by the many coins and dollar amounts.
