My students need storage pouches for their seats and a bookshelf to help us put our classroom library to better use.

I want all my kindergarteners to be reading at some level by the end of the year. To do this, not only am I looking to various phonics lessons or reading lessons, but also to literature. Right now, my students are so excited about reading books, and I want to keep it that way as long as possible.
I am getting to know my students more as the year goes on, and I am learning more about their unique interests and skills everyday.
One characteristic all of them have in common right now is their curiosity for all things "school". Since this is the first time many of them have been in a school environment, they are beginning figure themselves out within a group of peers and within a classroom. My goal is to encourage that curiosity for not only school, but for learning and interacting with others as well.
With both the bookshelves and the storage pouches, my students will have our classroom library at their disposal whenever they choose. It will help them gain independence in the classroom, since they will no longer need to ask permission to get up to go get a book. The extra organization will also allow me as a teacher to provide specific books at a student's level that I want them to focus on, and give them the ability to recognize which books are "just right" for them. This will help encourage them to read, rather than discourage them when they feel frustrated if books are too difficult.
Having more contact with books in any classroom is always an advantage for its students.
With these materials, my students will be able to look at books more often and more closely, and allow them the independence to choose books that fit them and make them fall in love with reading.
