Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching 4th grade has been a dream come true! I love the relationships I am able to build with my students on a daily basis. I will have 44 students that are 98% ELL learners and 95% free and reduced price lunch. They face difficulties everyday but come to school excited to learn.
School is a safe place for them and I want to show them how important they are to me and to the world!
They are eager learners and I want them to know that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to!
My Project
My students often have indoor recess during the winter months and on rainy days. I would love for them to have board games to play to keep them engaged and active during recess without resorting to computer games. These games would help develop their social and communication skills as they work together.
My students do not have many board games at home and are often alone.
Having games in our classroom will allow them to have fun and learn through playing! These games will also allow me to build relationships with my students that are sometimes not built during the regular school day.
