Help me give my students hands-on literacy tools such as magnetic letter builders, a trace and write alphabet center, and a letter recognition instant learning center to master letters and sounds.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kiddos are amazing! Each day, they walk into our classroom full of energy and ready to learn despite many challenges they face before entering our classroom door.
One hundred percent of the students at our Title I school in Florida receive free breakfast and lunch based on low socio-economic status.
Our classroom is in full swing this year and I love to provide my students with hands-on learning experiences! Some of my students are learning letter and number identification while others are ready to read, write, and count. We are all growing together and I hope to provide a learning environment that creates a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
My Project
These literacy manipulatives will continue to enhance the hands-on learning environment I strive to create. Our kindergarten classroom is a busy place with learning happening all around. Many of my students are kinesthetic learners. One benefit of having literacy manipulatives is that kinesthetic learners are given the opportunity to get hands-on with a particular skill.
With these literacy manipulatives, my students will be able to learn letter names and sounds through play.
After I introduce each manipulative, students will be able to play these literacy games independently or in small groups, during literacy centers, reading rotations, or collaborative work time.
