Help me give my students hands on activities, modeling clay and natural clay that will allow my students to be creative while building their fine motor skills for writing and drawing.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our class is a collaborative preschool classroom in a low-income Title I school. The class consists of a mixture of special needs, ESL and general education students in a literacy-rich program. Due to the high level of low-income students, the entire school receives free breakfast and lunch.
Our students flourish with hands-on activities and opportunities to explore their environment.
We try to provide them these opportunities as often as possible but sometimes furnishing materials for these activities can be challenging. Any assistance in this goal is greatly appreciated!
My Project
Our program has shifted to a child choice play stationed model where the students are able to choose among activities that the teachers provide. Our students need a variety of activities that allow them to create, explore, experiment and build.
This project is full of games and materials that allow students to use their hands and minds to explore and problem solve to make sense of their world.
Alphabet activities that allow the students to build fine motor skills while learning letters help students get ready for kindergarten. Modeling and natural clay and tools will allow the students to create and experiment while building their little hands for future writing and drawing.
