Ms. Bailey from Houston TX is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students basic classroom art supplies such as crayons, markers, and glue that will help to extend their creative imaginations throughout the remainder of the school year.

My little Busy Bees are a bunch of five- and six-year-old sponges who absorb anything that is thrown their way. For some, the only schooling these young minds receive is in the seven and a half hours that I have with them each day. Providing for classroom needs is a struggle for most families, and many have unmet needs both in and outside of the classroom. My classroom consists of students that are English language learners (ELL), students with autism, students who have behavior challenges, and students who come from a low socioeconomic background. All of my little Busy Bees receive free breakfast and lunch each day. I want to be able to set the foundation for future learning in my students, but our "hive" is very limited in the resources that are available.
Despite some having the disadvantage of not having a stable home or meal every night, they still come to school with good attitudes and are so eager to learn!
Many of my students are being raised in single-parent households and some are being raised by their grandparents, while others are in households where the parents are young themselves and who are high school dropouts.
In our Busy Bee "hive", we use crayons, markers, and glue every day in every subject area. But now that it's the second half of the school year, we are running very low on these items and are in desperate need of replenishment. Some of the crayon boxes are missing colors, have broken crayons, and in the very rare case, some have half-eaten crayons. The glue sticks and markers tend to dry out extremely fast due to their daily use. My little Busy Bees would very much appreciate any donation that will provide new crayons, markers, and glue sticks for us.
With these new classroom art supplies, my students will be able to create magnificent art projects as well as create stories with colorful illustrations during our writing block!
These basic classroom art supplies will be extremely beneficial for my students who need visual aids to refer to while learning. The pushcart dolly will be helpful in transporting all of our art supplies and other resources when we want to extend our learning beyond the classroom walls to the outdoor environment. Your support to our hive will benefit my students because it will help them become active learners. It will also help them to stay engaged, which, in the end, will help them start their path to becoming life-long learners.
