Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day is a new day ready for endless learning possibilities. I motivate all my students to believe that they have the potential to be better than the day before. I am a 5th grade educator at an inner city school and my goal is to educate them how to be a leader in their community.
My 5th grade students are low performing kids.
School data states that none of my 24 students are currently at a 5th grade reading or math level. Half of my class are students with disabilities and the other half are low academic learners. My school is a positive environment and for many of our students its where most of the day is spent.We are currently extended day, our goal is to move forward and promote learning in many diverse ways.
My Project
My students will be using many of the math manipulatives in math rotations. For example, multiplying and dividing Jenga will be such a fun part addition to our tradition paper rotations. In addition, they will use the headphones to focus and concentrate on their own Iready sessions. I requested buzzards to play review games and study sessions in groups.
Donations to my classroom will increase academic and self-confidence progression to my students.
My goal using all these resources are to attain a love for learning that some of them have lost. These donations will assist me in making their last year in an elementary school fun and successful. Even though, my class struggles with 5th grade curriculum they will be ecstatic and determined to prepare themselves for a successful middle school experience.
