Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the best students in the world! My school is located in a high-need community. Most of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have students from all different countries. My wonderful students come to school with a smile on their faces, ready to learn.
Although they struggle with extreme home situations, they often want someone to guide them into learning.
I enjoy coming to work each day and seeing their smiling faces. Some students' home lives are a bit more chaotic, which leads to a high transient rate. Quite a few of my students come from unstable homes, so the classroom needs to be the one constant in their life. They need to feel safe and provided for. Despite the many obstacles that surround them, they love to learn!
My Project
Having tablets in our third grade class will improve small group instruction and behavior issues. Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. The tablets will give us a chance to organize small groups instruction so I can target the students' needs.
Exposing my students to technology while targeting their needs is my goal.
The tablets will allow the students to move from small group instruction to working independently. Giving low-income students these opportunities will make a difference in our students' lives. The tablets will help our students complete their tasks and achieve their goals. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
