Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I teach four and five-year-old, pre-k students from multiple backgrounds. Our school teaches many children who come from homes that speak a language other than English as well as students who are on free lunch.
The students at my school have not had the opportunity to experience art class, because there is no funding for an art teacher and the district doesn't see this as a priority.
There are also no art supplies for the students to use, so if a teacher decides to do an art project with his or her students the funding comes out of their own pocket the majority of the time. Students love working with fun art materials and expressing their individuality through art, they just aren't given the chance to do it.
My Project
My students would definitely benefit from the various resources in this project. We will be able to make permanent markings on crafts, learn about the color silver while using it in our hands, and finish up activities that require magnets or tape. With a new binder for every student, we will be able to work more efficiently by organizing our "letter books." Lastly with new batteries all our electronics will be working again.
You hold the power!
Please help my students engage in wonderful art experiences, organize their work, and make our electronics come alive again! Please donate to our project and help our classroom become an exciting place to be!
