Burke ABA Strand Classroom 424 needs a little help...
Help me give my students an opportunity to continue to learn at home during this crisis. These supplies will help their families work on vocational skills, self-reg skills, math, ELA and OT skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a great bunch of young men and woman from the Boston (Dorchester) area. They are all diagnosed with Autism and their learning happens in a sub-separate classroom at the wonderful High School. Our school is located in a poor neighborhood but that does not discourage us to show up and learn everyday. My students come from a variety backgrounds and family situations but when we are in the class we are one in the same.
My Project
Students will be able to continue working on our "made with love" cookie project that helps them work on their social skills, vocational skills, math skills and communication skills. The art supplies are for my students to work their on self-regulation goals, take free time when needed, work on their independent skills and help maintain their behaviors while their routines are disrupted and they are away from their teachers and peers. These are two of the projects my students are so invested it, I do not want it to come to a halt because we are not in school at this time. Thank you.
