Hi there! I'm so excited to apply for funding for our amazing second graders! Because our school is low income, teachers are often lacking materials needed for everyday instruction that is engaging and meaningful.
With more instructional materials, students will be able to show so much growth in academics.
Our students love working together. Working in small groups provides students multiple opportunities.
Throughout the day, many students from the autism program come in to be included in the general education environment. Some stay for only a few minutes, while others come in for direct instruction in core subject areas. These new materials would allow for all students to sit together and work in groups, fostering unique conversations and social skills.
My Project
How will these materials be used? Our class greatly needs additional materials to supplement our daily math and reading curriculum. Throughout the years, we have struggled to put together good materials that students can use to practice learning standards.
With the use of these bundles, students will have opportunities to practice class skills in reading and math.
We will use the interactive notebooks to provide hands-on learning situations to engage all learners. Our students have a variety of learning styles and one type of teaching will not engage everyone. Some of the students in my class have various needs such as ADHD and autism.
We have been focusing on quality and engaging teaching to provide opportunities for each and every learner to be successful.
