"WE'RE SO JELLY RIGHT NOW!" is a phrase that you can hear my men's volleyball team scream on the volleyball court when they are playing well. "Jelly" meaning "jelling" is a term that my team uses during games to encourage each other. When off the court, my team strives to push each other to be the best players and people that they can be. Athletics play a huge role in our community, however, while other sports have an abundance of student athletes, fans, and supporters, we have a dedicated core group of young men and families who return year after year because they love the game of volleyball.
The school where I work as a teacher, and coach, is a comprehensive high school in Northern California which serves grades 9-10.
Our students and athletes live in an area where their motivation, eagerness to learn, and determination to do well is at the forefront of all of their actions. Students participate in endless extra-curricular activities, such as athletics, drama, choir, and community service, that not only helps to shape them into outstanding members of our community, but allows them to be happy, healthy, and innovative.
My Project
Your donations will help our team be prepared for practice and games.
We would like a ball pump, two new volleyball carts, and some sticky mats; each item will be used every single day of our season.
The ball pump will ensure that our balls are always inflated and ready to use. Our last ball pump broke in the middle of practice, so now we are left always searching for ways to inflate the volleyballs. The ball carts we are asking for will help us tote the balls around. Currently, our ball carts are broken and being held together by athletic tape, which is not reliable and does not let us move around during practices and games as quickly as we need to. Lastly, the sticky mats will help our athletes have a better grip on the gym floor during games.
