My students need "Bullying in Schools" and other character education titles. Also, they need dry erase crayons, book boxes, grouping pencils, and dry erase boards.
Bullying is an unfortunate experience so many students are faced with on a daily basis. My students need to be equipped to combat bullying!!
I serve twenty, first grade students who live in the heart of the mountains of Kentucky.
They are bright, energetic, and very eager learners. In addition, they are very social children who love to interact with their peers. They are at a very critical time in their lives....learning the basics of reading and math AND developing the necessary social skills to live in harmony among their schoolmates.
My Project
I'm requesting a selection of books and activities, including "Bullying in Schools" to combat bullying and I'm requesting bins to place these books in. It is important for students to be provided with realistic scenarios to be able to discuss this issue. The group pencils will allow me to do just that "group" students for discussions and to work cooperatively during centers and other group activities. After completing the activities, I would like to provide my students with dry erase boards and crayons to be able to formatively monitor where they stand on a specific bullying scenario.
Bullying needs to be eliminated and be something that happened at school in the past.
We can't erase what has happened in schools, but we can combat and hope to eliminate such a horrific experience for today's students. This project is a great step in that direction.
