My students need 4 (out of a potential 12) Jumbie Drum Steel Pans. We are learning to accept the cultures of other people from around the world and these drums are great!
The students at my school are always learning about bullying. We are working hard to incorporate world cultures into our lessons every day. I'm incorporating world music cultures into my classroom every single day. Steel pans are a wonderful way to include the cultures of others into our music room!
This year, our student body has increased from 860-980!

I'm so lucky to be the music teacher for so many wonderful and talented students. I see each of these 980 students every week and they are always so excited to come to the music room! Many of my students live their lives with autism spectrum disorders and have a strong passion for music that can't always be expressed in "traditional ways". These students need to experience music with their hands and bodies fully immersed. These students cannot simply sit at a desk and absorb information. They must be involved and fully involved in every second of the music making opportunities afforded to them. I am so proud of the talented students that I have the privilege of teaching every week. They are wonderful and they deserve every wonderful musical experience that they can get their hands on. I can't wait to play our new steel pans! Thank you for your help!
My Project
I am asking for 4 Jumbie Drum Steel Pans. These drums are specifically made for young musicians and will be easily incorporated into our world music lessons. I will be asking for a total of 12 Jumbie Drums eventually, but I could only ask for four this time (as they are a little pricey). I hope that you can help us to purchase an entire set of Jumbie Drums for our young musicians to play on and experiment with. We promise to use them as much as possible!
