Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Help us "hide" the bullies! Sometimes it's just to hard not to see a bully everyday.
I teach 19 wonderful, bright and happy children. However, we live in a very economically disadvantaged area where many are not able to experience some of the finer things in life. My school is very supportive and provides the students with as much as it can however, budget cuts have really cut down on the amount of modern and age appropriate materials.
My Project
I am requesting several copies of the book "Bullying in Schools," several audio books, many of which feature an antagonist, and a class set of individual student partitions. These resources will allow my students to gain a better understanding of bullying and more appropriate ways of handling the situation. I am also asking for individual student partitions because sometimes the best way to deal with a bully is pretend their not even there.
My project is so important to me because many of my students have been taught to fight back, to never allow some one to get the better of you. With these materials my students will be able to understand that there is better ways to deal with a bad situation.
