Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a school located in an urban community consisting of over 500 students with all different ethnicities making up our school. We currently have 203 students identified as English Language Learners. In addition to the various ethnicities at our school, our students mainly come from a high poverty background. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
My goal is to help my students build their educational foundation.
Students come to school each day with the knowledge that our classroom is a safe place to grow and learn together. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can to be college and career ready.
My Project
I would like these bulletin board materials for my classroom birthday bulletin board and for the hallway bulletin board that I am assigned. The bulletin boards that I put up are changed monthly and are aligned to what the students are learning in the classroom.
Bulletin boards help establish a positive climate in schools and in classrooms. They also add interest for parents and visitors.
Bulletin boards around the school and in the classroom help create a positive atmosphere and build community which is exactly what I aim for. With having these supplies I will be able to brighten the school hallway and make my classroom inviting for my students.
