Bulletin Board to Showcase Internship Program, Get Underclassmen Interested
My students need a bulletin board to showcase their work in the internship program. We want to show the student body (especially underclassmen) the benefits of our program, the many careers it offers a glimpse into.
I teach business classes to aspiring filmmakers at a Savannah public high school. These students come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all share a talent for filmmaking. They each submitted a short film as part of their audition process for this program, and are all taking classes on filmmaking in addition to their core classes.
In their business classes, they learn about business fundamentals, as well as the business of show business.
They take classes focused on business technology, business law, entrepreneurship, marketing, and others. These classes make commercials, analyze box office data using spreadsheets and statistics, frequently practice public speaking, and more.
Our high aspirations for these classes is often hampered by a lack of funding. We are a public school, and teaching about new technology and filmmaking always requires more funds than we are able to secure through our school district alone. Any aid you can provide is much appreciated!
My Project
We will highlight each intern's position in our program with a picture of them "on the job", the employing company's name, and information about the position. We will also post basic information about the student internship program. Many underclassmen are unaware of this valuable program's existence, and an informational bulletin board, prominently located, can help fix this.
Our goal is for all students who have a career interest to be aware of our program.
By spreading awareness we can get more students in career related internships that will help guide them in their own career paths. A visual reminder about our program vis-a-vis the bulletin board will help us accomplish this.
