This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These students are intelligent hard working individuals. They come from different backgrounds, but most of them come from low-income households. Their neighborhoods are not so good with much violence right where they live. They are inner city youth with much potential, but not many resources. They are at school where 100% of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
They have many dreams and goals,but it can be very hard for them to obtain them because they have not be given many opportunities to reach them.
The school and city the students are in make it hard for some students to achieve greatness. These students work very hard through adversities to succeed.
My Project
All of the students that are on the basketball team have on thing in common. That's to succeed on the court and off the court as well. The student athletes from this school come from a low income background and just want an opportunity to compete with some great teams. In order to compete with those great team the student athletes must be trained properly. The items that have been asked to donate will help these student athletes train and become the best player they can. It can be hard to train, workout and practice a craft without the right equipment. With the equipment asked to donate the student athletes will have what they need to get better at their craft.
Student athletes need to know that somebody cares about them succeeding on and off the court.
With you contributions they will see that people care about their success. It is not easy for the school to provide equipment because the funds are limited, but that doesn't mean these student athletes don't deserve a chance to get better in their craft. Help them meet their student and athletic goals with your contributions.
All of these items will allow students to work on their desired craft. These student athletes want to be two sport athletes with the ability to play two sports more opportunities will open up for them. The students will use the net to work on throwing and passing accuracy and the chutes will allow players to work on their speed. The flags will allow us to play competively without injury.
