My Students
I teach at a Title I school, which means many of my students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged families. My students do not often have opportunities to have many real-life experiences outside of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face outside of the classroom, they are hard workers and eager learners!
We support student learning through scaffolding and provide a variety of learning opportunities to address the different learning modalities.
Providing learning opportunities for students who benefit from visual, kinesthetic, auditory, and tactile experiences ensures we reach all students' learning needs.
My Project
These Unifix Letter Cubes have an additional benefit not provided with basic magnetic letters. They build fine motor skills when students work to snap the cubes together and shows how letters squeeze close together to form words.
Differentiation is at the heart of effective teaching.
Students are given differentiated opportunities to learn using this center as they practice building and writing words. This center will be used all year long as students learn and grow. They will be able to practice the following skills with the cubes and markers:
