My sweet students come to me with many different backgrounds. We have families in the military, ELL families, and kids in two different special needs programs.
Our school is absolutely amazing!
We are located in a rural area! Since many students also live in a rural area, these students are part of the 4H and have many different animals as pets. We've even brought a pig to school! We are a small Title I school that emphasizes technology and reading.
My Project
This year has been so unpredictable and challenging. We started this year remote, returned to in-person, quarantined twice, and went back to remote for the rest of 2020. My students and parents are working tirelessly while trying to learn from home. Many parents are also holding full time jobs, and can't always be there to help their children. Things are definitely not the same! It's also challenging because students may not have everything they need at home for remote learning. Some students may not be able to afford supplies that would typically be found in the classroom. My hope is to provide some resources for parents as they work with their children at home.
Students need tactile letters to help them build their skills in phonics and spelling.
Even though we are learning from home, I would like to work on word skills and patterns. Students would benefit by having these letters while we learn new letter combinations as they manipulate and create the words I teach. Additionally, I would like to give students developmentally appropriate handwriting paper to practice writing the words we create. Thank you for your support!
