This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of energy, they always come to school brimming over enthusiasm and excitement for learning, life and friends. My class of first graders bilingual (English and Spanish) make big plans, jump into projects with both feet, work hard and don’t want to miss a thing.

My students are very creative and they like hands on activities, engaging projects that allow them to fulfill their curiosity.

I do my best to provide each child with the best education possible in my classroom. Each of them has a unique style of learning. My mission is to enable all children with the best and most equitable, education possible for them to be successful in their education.

My Project

We teach 60 ELLS 1st grade students at our school. Our classrooms are in great need of a new color printer. The new color printer would give the children in our bilingual classrooms the opportunity to add pictures and color to stories they type. Research shows that the availability of color illustrations supports the understanding and retention of new words. Having colored illustrations will help our ELL students build background vocabulary needed to communicate in both languages, Spanish and English.

Students will be able to illustrate and write memory books that will be share with parents at the end of the school year.
