Help me build up the STEAM resources in our classroom!
My students are energetic, eager to learn, happy kindergartners!
We are a diverse population, from a small, mid-western town in Wisconsin. Our school has a 44% population of economically disadvantaged students.
My goal this year is to encourage my students to become problem solvers and creative individuals. I want to expand on the resources that I have for STEAM activities in my kindergarten classroom! Some of the activities will include using materials for computer coding, but the majority of my request is for hands on, designing and creative building materials.
My Project
This year, I am excited to expand my resources in my classroom for STEAM activities. Though a couple of my materials are technology based, much of the requested materials are for using their creativity and imagination to build and design. I want my students to be able to “step away” from the iPads and computers for a change and use their hands and thinking caps to see that they can design, build and create awesome things. To learn how structures are built and discover ways to make their creations stay together, will inspire them to continue to enjoy learning in a new way! These resources will give my students the opportunity to become builders, creators and most of all, thinkers!
