This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach amazing young and active K5 students in an urban school district. I get to teach them at a crucial time in their lives, where I can foster a love of learning and caring for others.
Being in an urban district, many of my students come from low-income families, which results in their school not having enough resources or supplies for all of them.
Our school is warm and welcoming, and our teachers and staff do everything they can to provide for their students.
In our classroom, many of my students are having their first school experience. It is a safe place for them to feel welcome and encouraged to grow each day. They deserve to be able to engage and grow with brand new and fun materials in their classroom.
My Project
Our students are lacking toys in our building center. During playtime, the students need more materials to help tap into their imagination and creativity! With this donation, they would be able to use new materials like gear builders and bristle blocks than just regular building blocks to build with and play with during their time in this center. It will also help to create more creativity and less boredom with our current materials because we will be able to change out the toys throughout the year. This will help keep students interested and excited to explore using the pattern blocks and 3D slot builders to create in this center with these new, fun, and exciting toys!
