My students come from diverse backgrounds and need resources to investigate and explore the world around them. They are excited and motivated to learn new concepts.
My students speak a variety of languages, and to promote language development I provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Providing these authentic learning experiences builds student knowledge and improves language proficiency through engaging learning experiences. My students need these engaging resources to be successful in the classroom which will create a passion for lifelong learning.
My Project
Kindergarteners learn through meaningful play. LEGO Building blocks are the perfect educational tool because they develop creativity and problem solving through play.
Cause and effect is developed naturally through block play, students plan and create their structures and then execute their plan.
Language development, cooperative learning and creativity are also a benefit of building blocks. My students will work together to develop structures by explaining ideas and creating stories. This language development is essential for my English language learners. These skills will transfer to other subject areas such as math, writing and reading. Building blocks and LEGOS develop skills necessary to be successful in and out of the classroom.
