My students need KEVA Plank sets. We need KEVA 1000 plank set with bin, KEVA Contraptions, and KEVA Maze Bots for team-building activities and STEM design challenges.
My students are highly motivated and excited as we move toward becoming a "Future Ready" classroom! My students enjoy an active, fun, student-centered place where rigorous learning, critical thinking and risk-taking occur daily. I want to help my students to develop the good study skills, self-respect and responsibility necessary to be successful in life. We engage in collaborative, inquiry-based workshops, centers, projects, and discussions. My students are encouraged to take risks and learn from their mistakes. We engage in activities that foster respect for each other and highlight the benefits of working together.
We are a proud community of students, educators, and parents who work together to meet the needs of all learners.
Our pre-kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. The students come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Our rigorous academic program is complemented with a rich cultural arts program, courtesy of the collaborative efforts of the district arts program, the PTA and the Education Foundation.
My Project
KEVA planks are an exceptionally versatile tool for promoting teamwork and collaboration, fostering creativity, applying concepts of design and motion, and tackling engineering design challenges, for people of any age or skill level. KEVA Planks are precision cut maple wood planks produced in the US. No glue, just gravity. Only one simple building block is used which allows for an infinite number of construction possibilities. Building with Keva planks promotes discovery in balance and counterbalance, leverage, velocity/mass/force relationships, slope vs velocity, momentum, symmetry, problem solving, innovation, teamwork, and geometric shapes.
KEVA planks are a great resource to have in the classroom for team-building and STEM activities.
While working together on creative and challenging tasks, students will learn cooperation and communication skills. Trial and error, failure then success will foster perseverance and boost self-confidence. Challenges will include building the tallest tower, the longest bridge, and creating a dome to enclose an object.
KEVA planks will enhance our Science study of design and motion. Students will be challenged to create a structure that will deliver a ping pong ball into a container that is 12 inches away from the drop point. Students will be challenged create the longest marble run that will deliver the marble to the end.
KEVA planks are a fun way to bring students together in mind-stretching activities. Future architects and engineers will discover their aptitude for building. KEVA planks will help build the minds that will build our future!
