My students are energetic, creative, caring Kinders, growing up in rural Maine. They are amazing problem-solvers who love "What if?" questions! They love imaginative play and especially any type of creating and building.
In our class we celebrate creativity and problem-solving abilities, whether it is in art form or peer relations.
Even though they may only be in Kindergarten, they recognize these great qualities in themselves and others. We cheer each other on and I learn large life lessons from them everyday.
My Project
I want to give my students more time to think independently AND interdependently. I want to provide them with access to materials that can aid them in problem solving with one another and further their interest in creating and imagining. I want to hear them say, "I wonder what will happen if....", and "Wow, did you see what they just did!" or "I think you're right, we should...". By funding our project, my students will receive various STEM toys such as Legos, Magnatiles, Keva blocks, 2 Osmo Genius Kits, K'nex, and straw connectors.
We need children to become citizens who are creative thinkers, problem solvers, and individuals that can see more than one side to a situation.
Help me, help them grow and love learning! Help me BUILD the future, OUR future through our children.
