Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is the only school in S.F. Public Schools, dedicated to educational programming exclusively for 3 and 4 year old children. The school gives priority placement to students who are identified as needing special education services.
Our students' curiosity and drive to explore the world around them inspires us everyday.
Our school wide goal this year is to create a school library, allowing all of our students to access quality books and develop a love of reading early in life.
My Project
Our school goal this year is to create a communal library space for all of our students and classrooms to use. We have had generous donations of books but need some additional ones - especially in Spanish. We are almost ready to begin classes visiting our new space but lack comfortable items for students to sit on while enjoying their books and a rug for teachers to hold read aloud with groups of students. Students will be able to borrow these books like any other school library.
Our goal is to create a warm and inviting area for students to explore books and create a lifelong love of reading.
Your generous donations will provide comfortable seating and a large rug for students throughout the school to sit on during their visits to the library.
