Building the Beat With Flocabulary

My Students

Even on a bad day, my students find ways to warm my heart. Whether it's a "Get well soon!" email or a simple "Hi, Ms. Munkvold" on the board, my students demonstrate empathy and generosity.

They are kind, respectful, and intelligent young people who are craving to read and learn about the world.

My students engage in thoughtful conversations about social justice issues and are learning to politely share their opinion with backup evidence. I can already tell that these students will bring a new light to the world and, for that, I am proud of them.

My Project

Flocabulary has an incredibly engaging effect on my middle schoolers, who are a tough group to motivate. We've used a few Flocabulary videos and activities in class, and it was amazing to see their eyes and ears light up as they responded to the content.

With Flocabulary, I can individualize instruction for my students.

They can work at their own stress-free, student-centered pace. As the students learn the material, I can quickly assess their new skills within Flocabulary and then apply them to primary sources in our English language arts class. To further individualize learning and make Flocabulary even more powerful, my students need headphones.
