I work at a Youth Development Center where I teach incarcerated youth English, Social Studies and Life skills. We utilize a form of the one room schoolhouse where I teach students in varying grade levels and courses all in one class. Receiving funding for projects and additional programs in a YDC is next to impossible yet the need is great!
These young men desperately need to be provided the opportunity to learn skills that successful and effective people know and use in their everyday lives.
With your donation you will be helping to equip these young men with the tools they need in order to be successful and lower their chances of recidivism.
My Project
We are requesting the book and workbook for "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" that will outline what these young men should focus on to see more success in their lives. The workbook in tandem with the book will allow them to see these strategies in action and will allow them to work through these habits with introspective thought.
The books and workbook will give these young men the tools they need to instill essential habits necessary for them to be effective and successful in their lives.
These young men have learned bad habits in their young lives which has ultimately landed them into this facility but with these resources we have an opportunity to break the cycle and produce effective and productive members of our society.
