Growing up, do you remember the kids who were 'different'? I do. I remember helping the boy next to me with his math and hating when the other kids teased him for his differences. I'm still helping kids, and with your help I can teach my students the skills they will need to succeed in life.
My students attend an elementary school in the midwest.
All of my students spend most of their time in the regular education classroom. They visit me in the resource room to get extra instruction in the areas in which they need it. Some of my students exhibit challenging behaviors although they have come a long way. They greatly benefit from social skills class in which we practice conversations, sharing, taking turns and relaxation skills.
My Project
My students have a variety of needs. Likewise my requests are very varied. A handful of my students have difficulty putting sentences together. I have requested many instructional tools such as workbooks, sentence puzzles and games to help with this need. I have also requested items that will help with their hand writing such as pencil grips and timers for staying on task. The games that I have requested will be used in social skills class. Many of them are specifically designed to promote social awareness, communication and anger management.

My students have been through a lot during the past few months. I feel that the least I can do is to help them feel and be successful. My students need that extra push to be on a level playing field with their peers. With your help, we can be that extra push they need. Thank you so much!
