Hello! I am a school psychologist serving students in two k-8 elementary schools in Phoenix, Arizona. I work with students with different disabilities as well as students who are facing emotional challenges. As a school psychologist, I am passionate about providing mental health and social skills development support to students.
I am in need of resources to promote students' social skill development.
Resources that include research-based strategies and activities to complete with children will help to promote their learning and success in a fun way.
My Project
The Skillstreaming materials will make a huge impact by helping students to develop skills and strategies needed to perform behaviorally in school and in their everyday lives. The materials will be used by the school psychologist, school counselor, and speech-language pathologist, and they will also be available for teachers to use with students in their classroom. The development of strong social skills is essential in fully accessing the classroom and accomplishing interpersonal and professional goals outside of the classroom.
The specific resources chosen for this project include research-based strategies for building social skills with students.
Having an applicable guide to follow as the group facilitator makes tracking data and progress more doable in the school setting. The items chosen include step-by-step teaching strategies for the facilitator.
