My students need small group instruction to help them reach their highest potential. The items I am asking for will help me set up effective math centers and small groups in my classroom.
Our students live in the diverse Rogers Park Neighborhood in Chicago, IL. We are extremely lucky and have a very diverse population at our school. Over 60 countries are represented at our school and over 40 languages are spoken.
This environment allows us to build a strong community that embraces our diversity.
We enjoy learning about our cultural differences and have great discussions in class about our similarities and differences.
As a result of the current budget crisis, our district's funding is limited. Our school is not able to financially able to supply all classroom materials. I want to do anything I can to make sure my students have the materials they need and deserve.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will help set up effective small group instruction. This is a professional goal of mine this year to have efficient small groups during my math block. These are materials I would normally have to purchase from my own funds. These materials will help provide comfortable seating for students as well as keep me organized for the 60+ students coming in and out of my classroom daily. The storage bins will help me stay organized, and the laminating sheets will ensure these activities will be used for many years to come. Small group instruction is key to students learning at their level, and I hope to provide that to my students this year!
