Help me give my students these exercise assistance bands and weight lifting assistance equipment to help them build their strength and confidence doing exercises they could not do without them.
Our students come from a variety of different economic and ethnic backgrounds. Currently, our childhood obesity rates are high and we need to help our students make changes that will shape their future. This is a small community with dreams to do big things!
We believe an active body leads to a healthy mind.
Our students need more opportunities to be active in order to be able to reach their goal of 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Outside of school, many students do not have opportunities to be active and they thrive with each new challenge presented them at school. Whether they are being physically active during PE, open gym or after school activities our students enjoy the opportunity to move their bodies. We are located in a rural town and are a very close-knit community, many of the families at our school have been in the district for generations; so they rely upon the school district to provide life-changing opportunities like these for their children.
My Project
Will use the exercise assistance bands to help our middle school students learn how to do body weight exercises such as pull ups, chin ups and dips with assistance so they can have confidence to do these exercises as their strength catches up with the growing bodies.

The lifting straps and chalk will help us to grip the bars as we lift weights and our grip strength is developing as we learn to do these exercises that will help improve our strength and self confidence. The charging station is so that we can have our heart rate monitors charged and ready for each class so the students can track their effort levels during their workouts.
