My students are future scientists, tech innovators, engineers, artists, and mathematicians eager to change the world. We are a small university town with a sizable English language learner population and a Title I assisted school filled with students who are eager to take ownership of their learning and build 21st-century skills.

My Project
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, but what STEM education focuses on is much more than these subjects. The focus of STEM education is how these subjects relate to each other and how they can be used to solve real-world problems.
My students need a Sphero Mini kit and 3D printer filament to work together to expand their STEM and storytelling skills.
These materials will be used with the engineering design process to create stories and navigate through story maps. These projects will foster creativity and build coding skills while helping students express themselves in unique ways.STEM encourages kids to develop skills in the core disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
As a part of our science standards that focus on how humans impact the earth, students will engineer and test Sphero Mini driven designs to clean up ocean and beach environments and plan transportation systems that will help reduce pollution.
Students will test cause and effect relationships and code story maps that practice sequence, problem and resolution, and character interactions.
Lessons like the ones listed above will provide my students with opportunities to cooperate, synthesize data, and learn skills that will last a lifetime.
