Building STEM in My Room
My students need materials to improve STEM lessons in the classroom. The File Folder Games, Cell & Organisms Activity Tubs and Lego/K'nex materials would be great!
A day in my room involves many opportunities for student leadership. I am requesting Lego's and K'nex for my math classes as well as Science experiment kits for hands on learning. I teach two sections of Math with varying abilities. Hands on materials will be awesome tools for my tactile learners.
My students are amazing people.
Some have overcome many obstacles in their life journeys so far. My students have the sweetest personalities and are full of energy and fun. Our school has its challenges. We are in an older building without as many resources as we would like. We serve a big population of economically disadvantaged students. We are working towards giving all of our students the opportunity to show that they can make a difference.
We have been working on Science experiments all year. My students love to do hands-on manipulation of resources, not just reading about the topics. This will help me get the materials into the kids hands and give them the freedom to explore and build and create and learn.
This will help my students put theory into practice.
We can read about the topics all day long but being able to actually build bridges and explore organisms live and in person will give my students opportunity that they haven't had before.
Thank you for helping us become Scientists!
