I teach in a K-5 special education classroom with students of varying abilities. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
The students in my classroom have a mix of ability levels and come from a variety of settings. The students are kindergarten through fifth grade and are still understanding basic social skills concepts.
Self control and respect for others are two essential parts of our classroom community.
These skills are taught throughout the year with a variety of lessons, but to truly master such high level social skills, students need the opportunity to practice these skills in an enjoyable, meaningful situation that is on their level. The books I have selected will model important social skills in real life situations. While the games will allow them to put many important social skills into practice.
