Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hard-workers, eager to learn, and very energetic.
As a teacher (Pre-K/E.S.E), at the Elementary School we are always encouraging high-levels of learning for all of our students.
In my classroom the students thrive to engage in the activities that are provided in class. Due to our high Hispanic, migrant population and high-poverty school district we have many challenges that we face in school as well as in the community.
I have an inclusive classroom where students with disabilities are mixed in with typical peers their same age. My typical students are role models for the students with disabilities and also learn empathy for students with challenges. I am very grateful our district and principal who have supported us in creating inclusive classrooms. One of the greatest things about my students with disabilities is the chance for them to teach typical students as well. My students with disabilities are able to read books, learn letters and numbers. All of the students enjoy playing number and letter Bingo in class.
My Project
My students need the Career Costume Set to help promote student engagement where they can build social and emotional skills. Most of my students are language and speech impaired and with the costumes students would have time to interact with their peers and engage with their peers during play.
This opportunity will allow students to role play and act out various experiences through the use of the different costumes.
This item will also teach students about the jobs in the community and how important each job is for our safety and health. This will give our students opportunities to think about what they would like to be when they grow up.
