Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school and have a lot of students from different backgrounds. A lot of my students have shared their stories, and face difficult situations. Many of our students experience issues related to trauma, self harm, anger, stress, depression, and anxiety. These materials will help me give them a comfortable space and the tools that they may need to help figure out their trauma so they can become a healthier functioning adult in today's society. In addition, my students had some of their learning cut short due to COVID 2020. As a result of this, I see a deficit in their SEL proficiency. With funding from this project, they will have the opportunity to grow their SEL skills and become a better functioning member of society.
