My students are wonderful. They come to me from a highest poverty area. They are kind, respectful, and responsible. Together they are learning to set goals for themselves, and as a class. They are learning that I have high expectations, and that I love them. They are learning what proper behavior looks like too. They cheer each other on and they have learned to teach each other. They collaborate, they listen, they question, they strategize, and they are learning to problem solve in both social and academic skills. They know that in our classroom, we are all teachers and we are all learners, and we should strive to be both of these throughout our lives!
My students love read alouds with friendly characters who solve big thorny problems, so I am going to build them a library with books about perseverance, grit, doing your best, letting go of helplessness, goal setting, standing up to bullying, and handling tough problems.
Help me help them learn that our choices and work ethic affect our outcomes in life!
My Project
I want to build up their social, emotional, and academic bank with a huge set of books about perseverance, grit, doing your best, letting go of helplessness and anger, goal setting, standing up to bullying, and handling tough problems!
My goal is to give them a leg up by providing them with engaging character role models and opportunities for discussion on how to handle themselves in all of life's areas; academic and social!
This engaging and carefully picked library will allow me to read, teach, model, and allow them to model and practice how characters like them make good choices in life! It'll give them chances to listen to reading, read aloud with their buddies, and re-read their favorite books too!
Help me help them learn to make choices that affect their outcomes in life... for the better! Let's make a difference!
