Our students have struggled, academically and socially, at the comprehensive middle schools in our community. Many of them enter our school with F's across the board. Our goal is to inspire their desire to learn and ignite a passion to discover the world around them.
We are a small Community Day School in northern California.
67% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of our students come from single family homes, have parents who struggle with addiction, and/or English. We strive to provide our students with opportunities that will expand their horizons, expose them to new and exciting ideas and innovations, and inspire their imaginations.
We have limited resources available to us at our school and the idea of a 3-D printer is way beyond the scope of our budget. This is an exciting tool that will allow students to design and create components to supplement their robots, while exposing them to new technologies and innovations.
This technology will allow our students to compete at a higher level and on par with wealthier schools in our area.
Further, it is our hope that some of our students will be inspired to pursue technology as a career path. Finally, it will impact all of our students by adding to their knowledge and experience with their changing world.
