Our Kindergarten students are AMAZING! They are an excited and curious group of 5 and 6 year olds. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Yet, they are all eager to make new friends and love to learn!
Our students come with a variety of needs.
The majority of our students are on Free or Reduced lunches. We have students who receive services from special education, speech, OT/PT, Title 1, and ELL. With each of these needs we meet them using UDL principals inside our classroom.
My Project
Recess is a special time in the day to give students a break and exercise but it is still a learning opportunity. Our students are in need of building appropriate social skills and play with their peers. Our students need to learn how to share, how to lose, how to win, how to ask each other to play, how to wait turns, how to help each other, and how to encourage and work as a team. Recess provides a unique opportunity to build student relationships and socials skills through play and exercise.
By donating to this project, you will be building young students into well rounded individuals with academic skills, social skills and awareness, and self confidence.
We will use the parachute to build team work and inclusion. We can use the tunnel, cones, skipballs to create obstacle courses where we practice taking turns, encouraging each other and persevering. We can use the pop up goals and soccer ball to create teams, sharing skills, and learn about winning and losing. Our students will be so excited for these opportunities.
