Help me give my students books for our classroom library. I want to add chapter book series, non-fiction books, books related to social studies and science topics, and fiction books to our library.
Hello! I teach in a K-2 school with approximately 1,000 students. Our school has a diverse population of students. My students are smart, enthusiastic, creative, hardworking, eager, and respectful. My classroom consists of students from all different backgrounds. I have high functioning students, low functioning students, and ELL students. My school offers reading and math interventions to aid struggling learners in their educational success.
I am dedicated to my students.
It is my goal to provide an inviting, nurturing, and warm classroom where each student feels comfortable.
Our school does not receive Title I funding. Thus, the technology and resources in my classroom are limited. Most of my resources are supplied by either myself or through parent donations. The environment provided by the administration, teachers, and staff is inviting and nurturing. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of each student that walks through the doors.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy! All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have chosen both fiction and non-fiction books. These are books that are frequently chosen from the school library, books related to topics we have studied or will study in science and social studies, and various chapter book series. These books will help our classroom library to grow so that students will have a variety of books to choose from during independent reading time. My students love to choose books from our classroom library when they finish work early, during small group reading time, and on Fridays when we read with flashlights for "Flashlight Friday."
With these new books, my students will be able to choose books that interest them.
The best way to grow as a reader is to read more. These new books will be be motivating and will encourage my students to read more!
