My Students
My students are enthusiastic children who face many challenges in their young lives from poverty to being raised by grandparents. My students come to school ready to learn. I love to see their happy faces looking at me wanting me to share stories of people, art, and how to create.
We read fiction and non-fiction books so that I can show them all the possibilities they have before them.
I try to bring the world to them through books!
My Project
As the librarian, it is my job to find good fit books for all of my students. It is not just my job, it is one of my first loves. In one aspect of my job, I teach kids about different artists and then they can go to art class and produce art similar to the artist. Another part of my job is to teach students Science, Technology, Engineering and Math activities. I chose books to fit with those activities.
Students become excited when they can read about how to build, create art, or about how someone overcame an obstacle to succeed. I want that excitement for my students. I want to see their passion for reading grow.
