My students need Flag football belts for recess games such as Flag football, Capture the flag, and British Bull dog. The basses and balls are needed for kick ball games.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
According to researcher Jaak Panksepp at Washington State University, "The function of play is to build pro-social brains, social brains that know how to interact with others in positive ways.”
We are an inner-city school located in west central Phoenix, Arizona, and we educate 1,300 children in fourth through eighth grades.
Ninety-four percent of students qualify for federally subsidized free or reduced-price food services, a national indicator of children living in poverty, and 26% of students are English Language Learners.
My Project
Playing in a structured manner during recess fosters social skills that help students deal with conflict without resorting to violence. Organized play encourages fairness and trust in students. The use of healthy play techniques also increases self-esteem, cooperation, personal responsibility, emotional and physical health.
The equipment being ordered will be used during recess by all grade levels. Every day the students will be able to come outside and choose a game that has been assigned a designated area: Flag football, catch the flag, British bulldog, and 2 kickball games.
Research tells us that nearly all discipline-related problems in school occur during lunch and recess.
Instead of going back to class energized and ready to learn, students return to class upset and unable to focus. In contrast, when recess becomes a healthy, integral part of the school day, students carry that positive experience with them beyond the recess time.
