My Students
My students LOVE learning! They are a diverse group of students from different backgrounds and environments. Despite their differences, they are caring toward each others, and they care about their academic growth. As with most classes, there is a tremendous range of academic levels, and I hope to meet each student where he or she is and to push each student to reach his or her highest potential.
My students have a natural curiosity about the world around them, and I hope to capitalize on that curiosity and interest to keep them engaged and learning.
These students are used to a school culture that promotes intrinsic motivation, rather than external rewards. My students work hard and typically give me their best, and I want to make school a fun place for them to be!
My Project
Students will use math and clay to build a scaled model of the solar system! This will be a STEM project that will require students to apply what they have learned. Students will also place the clay in the correct location showing the scaled distance from the sun. Students will use the Play Dough to create scaled models of each planet in our solar system. They will use research and math practice to determine the correct size of each planet. This will be an excellent visual for students.
This will be an engaging, hands-on lesson that students will remember forever!
