Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We teach in a neighborhood where more than 97% of our students live in low-income families and where most of our students do not get as much support at home as they need.
In our classrooms, our little Pre-K students are exposed to meaningful, purposeful and playful experiences that nurture their academic and socio-emotional development.
Our children are full of energy and curiosity and everyday is an opportunity for them to grow and learn something new.

My Project
Recess is the best opportunity for our full-of-energy students' cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Currently, our designated playground is nothing but a small grassy area without any kind of equipment.
Thanks to fundraisers by PTA, we were able to buy a small playground set. Unfortunately this small playground set has not been fully installed and might not be completed even for the beginning of next school year.
The resources we have included in this project will be added to our playground area so our students can explore, play, learn, and have fun outdoors.
