My students are very unique and special individuals. Many of my students know a second language, are talented individuals and are very hardworking students. I have many students that are English Language Learners. They work hard on a daily basis to learn English and keep up with the curriculum. Watching the students work together and help each other is what really makes me love this particular group of students. We are a class made up of so many differences but we accept and value our differences.
My students love to please their teachers and love to help others.
They love to please their teachers so much that my class is always the class that has the most positive points when they go to their related arts classes (art, music, library and computers). They amaze me each and every day.
My Project
Building blocks, magnetic boards, tiles and board games will provide my first graders with an opportunity to develop a variety of skills. They will be able to enhance their fine motor skills, build relationships with classmates, develop social skills and learn problem solving skills. These are all essential skills needed for individuals.
My goal for this coming school year is to provide my students with chances to be creative and build upon their problem solving skills.
I want my students to be able to build things and learn how things work. I want them to be able to explore using different materials such as magnetic tiles, building blocks, Legos and other manipulative items.
Many students are lacking social skills due to the amount of time spent watching television or playing on iPads. Giving students a chance to play board games or build things together will help them develop stronger social skills. They will learn how to work together and how to solve social problems. This is something that must be taught early on in school.
By donating to our project, you will be helping first graders develop social skills, problem solving skills and fine motor skills. You will be giving them a chance to develop their creativity and to show their imagination.
