Help me give my students materials to spark their creativity through building kits that will give them an opportunity to use their minds to create new inventions.
My first grade students are full of energy with a strong desire to learn and read. We live in three small, rural communities that combine to make our school district. Our elementary school is a small district with approximately 200 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
These special first grade students love to learn through activities that are fun, yet focus on the skills that we need to master in first grade.
Six and seven-year-olds have the enthusiasm and energy to make any type of learning fun.
My Project
Currently our school is 100% face to face instruction. Due to the restrictions that have been put on by Covid, the students are spending more time in the classroom. Students are needing materials to use during this time to spark their creativity and explore new ideas.
The building kits that that I have requested will give students an opportunity to use their minds to invent, build, and enjoy.
These kits include a variety of materials that can be used to design and construct. Giving students the materials, time, and encouragement to be creative may spark the interest in future engineers, inventors, and designers.
We would use the materials in the classroom in a variety of ways including STEM time, center projects, and indoor recess.
