Fine motor skills involve the use of the small muscles that control the hand, fingers, and thumb. They help children perform important tasks like feeding themselves, grasping toys, buttoning and zipping clothes, writing, drawing, and more. The ability to complete self-care and every day tasks helps a child’s self esteem and confidence to increase.
It’s important to start working with children on building their fine motor skills early on.
All the different tongs, tweezers, squeezers, and pincers in this project will help students build their fine motor. Having a variety of tools allows for different practice. Some tools help with strengthening the hand for holding scissors and performing a similar motion to cutting while others will help with pencil grip and writing activities. Premo Teeny Weenie Tongs, Circle Tip Squeezers, Jumbo Tweezers, Skizzor Tongs are all fine motor skills building finger tools my kindergarteners need to develop their pre-scissor, pre-writing, finger grasp, and fine motor skills.
